On the Water on Monomoscoy Island

A boater's delight from land or sea! Spend your vacation overlooking Little River at this Monomoscoy  Island home. Our 4 bedroom, 2 bath waterfront home offers both relaxation and activities nearby. Swim off the dock, or reserve the space for your boat; Martha's Vineyard is a close neighbor and easy to get to - only 1/2 hour by boat from the dock. At the end of Little River is Waquoit Bay; the jetty leads directly into Nantucket Sound. Also in the Bay is Washburn Island, an uninhabited island, great for swimming or exploring. For those who prefer the beach, South Cape Beach State Park is only a short drive away. Mashpee Commons, an outdoor mall for shopping, dining, movies and more - a very popular destination is only 10 minutes away.

Monomoscoy Island is a designated wildlife sanctuary where osprey reside all along the mile and a half island. Walking and biking are great activities to do on the island, and kayaking is very popular - just lower the kayaks into the river from the yard and explore. At the end of a busy day, you will enjoy peace and quiet  near the end of this beautiful island. Jump in the river or the outdoor shower, then relax on the patio or in the living room during the evening and watch the sunset over the river.

A 20 to 30 minute drive will take you to Hyannis or Falmouth where ferries can take you to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. Golf courses are plentiful, as well as walking trails and bike paths.

Washburn Island Information - The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management, Division of Forests and Parks, manages Washburn Island as a part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve area.

South Cape Beach State Park -- South Cape Beach, located between Waquoit Bay and Vineyard Sound, contains a wide variety of coastal environments, including barrier beach and dunes, salt marsh, scrub oak/pitch pine woodland and "kettle" ponds.
